This session, the first in a two-part series, looks at how you can use tools in uRewind to organise your lecture recording and create in-video quizzes to encourage active learning. It also examines the use of learning analytics to help you see how students are engaging and interacting with your video. The Applied Physics Department has developed a number of methodologies that permit “Out-of-Lab” experimental teaching: Remote control of automated setups housed in PolyU, Mobile apps-based labs, and an Arduino system with external portable sensors as the extension of the apps. The design and capabilities of these various methods will be introduced, and their deployment in courses are showcased. We hope to initiate discussions on possible use in other disciplines.
