The Grameen Creative Lab
The Grameen Creative Lab (GCL) is a global social business incubator and joint initiative co-founded in 2008 by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and Hans Reitz. Operating as an international innovation lab, GCL serves as a creative engine to promote, design, and scale the concept of "Social Business"—a non-loss, non-dividend business model designed to solve systemic social and environmental challenges. The web platform serves as an open educational resource and operational hub, offering detailed case studies, strategic frameworks, project blueprints, and consulting resources for corporations, non-profits, governments, and educational institutions looking to address global issues such as poverty, unemployment, and environmental degradation. The platform showcases notable joint ventures (such as Grameen Danone and BASF Grameen) and highlights systemic initiatives aligned with Professor Yunus’s vision of a "World of Three Zeros" (zero net carbon emissions, zero wealth concentration, and zero unemployment). By translating theoretical social entrepreneurship concepts into market-tested, financially sustainable business solutions, this platform is an essential reference for undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and practitioners in social entrepreneurship, sustainable business models, corporate social responsibility, and non-profit management.
