Metacognitive Training (MCT)

Our research group has been addressing metacognitive processes in psychosis therapeutically since the early 2000s. Through humorous exercises, individuals with psychosis should gain insight into unhelpful cognitive distortions (e.g., jumping to conclusions, overconfidence in decisions) and improve their metacognitive abilities (“thinking about thinking”).

This resource is important to the fieldwork study of this subject. This website has training manuals of metacognitive training, targeting different clients like people with psychosis, depression and OCD. These resources help me to come up with a suitable group treatment for my fieldwork study. It is also really useful for my future practice as an OT.
