Literary Devices Every Reader Should Know: Part 1
Have you ever wondered what makes metaphors, similes, and analogies different? Or do you want to know what the three types of irony in literature are? If you're analyzing prose, poetry, nonfiction, or any other piece of text, you'll need to know the literary devices highlighted in this video. I'll show you the definitions of each device and concrete examples drawn from some of my favorite books, poems, movies, and TV shows. This video provides a lot of information related to the figurative language such as metaphor , personification, metonymy, simile and many other literary devices. Each poetic skill is quoted from famous literature and this is extremely useful for me to use them as reference in the essay related to analysis of languages and some presentations about a genre type. Overall, this video consolidated the knowledge I have learnt in ELC2011.
