Masterpieces of microengineering, kinesins are motorized transport machines that move cellular materials to their correct locations in the cell so they can perform their functions. Kinesins have two feet, or "globular heads," that literally walk, one foot over another. Known as the "workhorses of the cell," kinesins can carry cargo many times their own size.

We are two sisters on a mission to demystify science with humor and relevance by creating videos, GIFs, comics, and resources. Our content is focused on high school biology (Pinky is a former high school biology teacher), though we do receive comments that some of our content is useful for intro biology courses at the college level as well. We're for anyone wanting to learn biology! We frequently remind viewers that we cannot include all of the fascinating exceptions and details in a video under 10 minutes. We like to create memorable visuals to the content, but they're not scientific illustrations. Meaning, nitrogen and carbon don't tap dance. Our illustrated cell and molecule cartoons are definitely not to scale. DNA is usually a right-handed double helix (well...there are exceptions) and it doesn't have eyes...a face...or a top hat...

Electricity is generated at Lamma Power Station located at Po Lo Tsui of Lamma Island. The power station has a total installed capacity of 3,737MW made up of three 250MW coal-fired units, five 350MW coal-fired units, one 55MW gas turbines, four 125MW gas turbines, one 335MW combined cycle unit, one 345MW combined cycle unit, one 800kW wind turbine and one 1MW solar power system. Lamma Power Station provides a safe and reliable supply of electricity for more than 570,000 customers on Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island, and contributes to HK Electric’s world class reliability of more than 99.999%. Following the opening of Hong Kong's first wind power station, Lamma Winds, in 2006, an extension to the power station that burns the more environmentally friendly natural gas became operational the same year. In line with Government policy that aims to increase the use of gas, gas-fired generation has been increased to over 30% of the total output in 2010 when another gas-fired unit was put on use.

Now that we know about muscle tissue, let's see how this is arranged to form the muscular system, the incredible network of muscles that covers the skeletal system so that it can pull on bones and allow us to move around at will. There are hundreds of muscles so we won't cover them all, but we will learn some basic ways of categorizing and naming them, and take a look at a bunch of them too!

When your job hinges on how well you talk to people, you learn a lot about how to have conversations -- and that most of us don't converse very well. Celeste Headlee has worked as a radio host for decades, and she knows the ingredients of a great conversation: Honesty, brevity, clarity and a healthy amount of listening. In this insightful talk, she shares 10 useful rules for having better conversations. "Go out, talk to people, listen to people," she says. "And, most importantly, be prepared to be amazed." The TED Talks channel features the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Look for talks on Technology, Entertainment and Design -- plus science, business, global issues, the arts and more. On the 20th of February 2021, a United Boeing 777-200, registration N772UA performing flight UA-328 from Denver,CO to Honolulu,HI (USA) with 231 passengers and 10 crew, was in the initial climb out of Denver's runway 25 when the right hand engine's (PW4077) inlet separated associated with the failure of the engine. The crew declared Mayday reporting an engine failure. The aircraft stopped the climb at about 13000 feet, the crew requested to return to Denver after running the checklists. ATC offered any runway, they would make it happen. The aircraft returned to Denver for a safe landing on runway 26 about 23 minutes after departure. The aircraft stopped on the runway for a check by emergency services. Emergency services advised of an active fire within the right hand engine and extinguished the fire a few minutes later. The aircraft was subsequently towed off the runway to a remote parking stand, where passengers disembarked and were bussed to the terminal. There were no injuries. The engine inlet fell into the neighbourhood of Broomfield,CO, located about 16nm west of Denver near 13th and Elmwood Street, the debris also struck through the roof of an adjacent house. Broomfield police reported that although debris impacted the neighbourhood and damaged a number of homes, there were no injuries on the ground. The debris field expands over a nautical mile. Ground observers reported hearing the sound of an explosion like bang, smoke and saw the debris falling down. The aircraft continued flying.

The Native Korean numbers are used when you say your age, tell the time or count something in Korean. And this system is only needed to tell the numbers from 1 to 99. Bigger numbers (like 100 for instance) existed in the past in native Korean numbers but they are no longer used. So all you have to remember is the numbers between 1~99. Therefore, it would be much easier for you to memorize these numbers compared to the Sino Korean Numbers

To register for the Justice MOOC hosted on edx.org, please visit https://www.edx.org/course/justice-2 Part One: The Moral Side of Murder If you had to choose between (1) killing one person to save the lives of five others and (2) doing nothing even though you knew that five people would die right before your eyes if you did nothing—what would you do? What would be the right thing to do? Thats the hypothetical scenario Professor Michael Sandel uses to launch his course on moral reasoning. After the majority of students votes for killing the one person in order to save the lives of five others, Sandel presents three similar moral conundrums—each one artfully designed to make the decision more difficult. As students stand up to defend their conflicting choices, it becomes clear that the assumptions behind our moral reasoning are often contradictory, and the question of what is right and what is wrong is not always black and white. Part Two: The Case for Cannibalism Sandel introduces the principles of utilitarian philosopher, Jeremy Bentham, with a famous nineteenth century legal case involving a shipwrecked crew of four. After nineteen days lost at sea, the captain decides to kill the weakest amongst them, the young cabin boy, so that the rest can feed on his blood and body to survive. The case sets up a classroom debate about the moral validity of utilitarianism—and its doctrine that the right thing to do is whatever produces "the greatest good for the greatest number."
